East Dene awarded Quality Badge
Our Isle of Wight Centre has been awarded a Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge and an Adventure Mark in the latest ‘Thumbs Up’ on the quality of our outdoor learning programmes for Schools.
The LOtC Quality Badge is the only nationally recognised indicator of good quality educational provision and effective risk management. The purpose of the Quality Badge is to help schools identify good quality and safe provision, and to reduce red tape when planning educational visits. Information can be found here www.lotcqualitybadge.org.uk
Adventuremark compliments the Quality Badge scheme that supports the Learning Outside the Classroom manifesto, and confirms that providers of adventurous activities that are outside the scope of statutory licensing regulations have been inspected against nationally agreed and recognised standards. Information can be found here www.adventuremark.co.uk
The inspection scheme is administered by BAPA. Allnatt Outdoors is a founder member of BAPA, the British Activity Providers Association. BAPA seeks to safeguard standards at activity centres across the UK. Member centres must abide by the BAPA ‘Code of Practice’ and are committed to high standards of health and safety. This commitment is tested during inspections by independent BAPA inspectors. Further details on BAPAs ‘Code of Practice’ and other information can be found at www.thebapa.org.uk.
